I installed this mirror on our bathroom wall for my wife but when she tried to turn it on, it wouldn't work. I took it back down, grabbed a multi-meter and tracked the problem to a faulty power switch. I went ahead and cut the cord off, bypassed the switch and hardwired it to the bathroom mirror circuit. It STILL wouldn't work. I swapped out the bulb with the supplied replacement, but still no luck. I finally had to take a small screwdriver and pry up the center terminal on the bulb socket for it to make contact. Just to make sure that wasn't the entire problem, I rechecked the switch, and it was bad. Unless you're a pretty fair handyman, you'd better run from this one. Once I got it working, it did an acceptable job, but the provided lamps were pretty dim.
